~ Anubis ~
The most challenging part in weighting this skin for Anubis was maintaining the solif feel of the kevlar as anubis moved about. His waist was especially tricky seeing as his death animation had him twistng in on himself. It was also difficult to maintain the shape of his crotch cup. The end result used a mesh contraint to keep it pinned to his crotch without interfering with the existing leg and hip movement. It was also fun learning how to use a switch control for the spray can of mace that would travel between his prop and pelvis bone.

~ Neith ~
The par of this skin that stands out in memory is the difficulty in balancing the weighting on her chest ornametns and the shoulder decoration, specifically the accessory on her bow arm. I remember blending it between the upperarm and clavicle so it would not interfere with any of her animations that it was brought close to her face. Toward the end of the pipeline, it was shortened to what it is now, but that memory was particularyly strong for this rig.

I remember working on this skin, and the interesting aspect with this skin, was having to work with the modeler to figure out the placemetn for her hip pouches. Initially they were higher on the character but due to her idle animations, her hand would sink into the pouches. After the model placement was determined, I used to effectively use mesh constraints for them to follow her movements automaticly so animation could add accent animations for weight.

I chose to use an idle variation animation because it is unique to this skin and shows off her interacting with her gun.

~ Thoth ~
My first impression upon seeing this god, was that he looked like a
smooth alien. His small head and elongated limbs got me rather
excited about constructing his skeleton. He was the second god I
was assigned to construct after Raijin. Deciding how long and
prominant his fingers would be as well as how many neck lengths we
could spare for him while keeping the draping cloth was afun debate
in working with his model. The challeng came more in how to weight
his back skirt flap and collar, both of which we reserved bones
specifically for. His book was decided early on, and I was
exteremely happy with how it turned
out.

For Thoth's skin 2; I managed to keep the same bone count as the base skin by replacing his shoulder pads with new bones. I created the new bones because with the general different shape this new armor would behave differently.

This animation was chosen more for the book rather than Thoth himself, though I did want to use an animation where he both crouched and brought attentiong to the book and it's Hero Pages. Thus I chose One of his Combat Idle Variation animations.

~ Geb ~
Weighting Geb for the most part is pretty straight forward. Each part of his body is hard weighted to specific limb bones that allow him to collapse and reassemble at will. The challenge for this skin was creating a fun facial rig that would follow the surface of the snowman's head. I did this by placing the pivot for each facial coal at the centre of the head mass, allowing for all the facial features to freely rotate around the head.

One of Geb's unique qualities is that he can fully far apart and separate from his biped rig. I chose to show the Death animation because it both shows off this feature of his build but also the expression the snowman head has as he is faling apart.

~ Ra ~
This skin for Ra was challenging only for ajsuting the rig for the animations. None of Ra's prior skins had such a larch collar surrounding his head. Without the new collar bones on the sides and back, his beak would clip through constantly as he turned his head. Also, it was fun to add additional bones for the eyes on his chest and back. While in game, the eye will look around randomly for a creepy effect.

~ Khepri ~
I was excited to work on khepri because he is very unique among the gods of SMITE in rig and design. For this skin, I added the controls between the rounded accents on top of his neck. getting those to stay in one place through his animations was though. However I found weighting his claws to be the most difficult part of this skin. His animations hyper extend his claws, and with how the claws were modeled and with the animations, I had a tough time weighting the hinge of the claws to a level I was satisfied with.

This idle animation for Khepri shows a lot of moving pieces, from his wings to his semi-circle accent on the neck. I wanted to show off these movements and thus I chose this particular Idle animation.
